Feeling A Little Vampy

You know what? Sometimes you just want to dress like the total badass you are - without sacrificing flowy femininity or cozy comfort. That's exactly what this outfit is all about. Skyla is looking like the witch next door with a classically structured black midi and her new vintage Ferragamo bag (isn't it perfect?!) She keeps it easy and summery with a casual cropped tee and her go-to gladiator sandals for the perfect end-of-summer "Don't Mess With This" look.

Bonus points if you noticed the new hair color! I loved her sunset-red ombre, but she was eager to welcome her favorite season with something new and bold. Isn't is the most gorgeous red?

Classic Camping Outfit & A Confession

What is it about camping that brings out the flannel in a girl? This outfit was easy and effortless, and so quintessentially "camping" that I felt right at home collecting kindling for the fire while Skyla snapped photos. A bit obvious? Sure, but it's a rare opportunity to wear buffalo checks and army green in the summer, and this was it. Sorry/Not sorry about my sandals, guys. They've been in almost every OOTD I've done because they're perfect. I literally wear them everyday. To do anything else for the photos would just be dishonest!

Speaking of dishonest, I have a little blogger confession for you - and I'd love to hear some input from our fellow fashion blogger friends. No, I haven't been lying to you, but there is something I think you should know...

Photos from Our Trip: Assateague Island

Hey guys! We've finally settled back in at home enough to share a few pictures from our trip to Assateague Island. We were so excited to get away for a quick weekend and introduce the dogs to the ocean! So we all packed into the car for a few hours and set up camp nearby. As it turns out, the dogs thought the ocean was terrifying. But we still had a blast! Check it out!

Camping Recipe: Strawberry Smores Forever

Today we're going to share one of those ridiculously simple why-didn't-I-think-of-that kind of recipes that will blow your socks off. And once you try it, you'll be coming up with different delicious variations for weeks. This changes the s'mores game, guys. No longer will you be limited by layers of graham crackers and chocolate, but our hope is that your horizons will expand to fruits and pretzels and cheeses. But don't worry, the classics will always have a place at our campfire.

This is a two ingredient recipe. Naturally you can add and subtract as your little heart desires, but we demand that you come back here and let us know what your favorites are!

Glamping in Style

Hey guys! We can't wait to share pictures and stories from our little weekend camping adventure to Assateague Island, but today we're going to start it off with an OOTD. Because Skyla doesn't camp. She glamps.

ALS Challenge & What It's All About

Hey guys! I hope you enjoyed the Small Screen Style series this week. We had so much fun working with those amazing bloggers, and we can't wait do it again. Remember, the $600 Jewelry Giveaway is open all weekend, so don't forget to get your entires in!

In the meantime though, we wanted to share something a little fun, and very important. Yes, we did the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Yes, I know that your feeds have been full of these videos! I also know that pouring water over your head doesn't solve anything. But here's something you may not know:

Small Screen Style & Giveaway: Carrie Bradshaw

Maddy || Stephanie || Rebecca || Rachel
It's the last day of our Small Screen Style Collaboration with a few of our favorite bloggers and brands, and we couldn't be more excited to share this one! Carrie Bradshaw is arguably the ultimate female TV style icon. And the most interesting thing about her style is that everyone interprets it completely differently. We'll share a little more on our inspiration and interpretation below, but first:

We want to thank the lovely ladies above for helping to make this collaboration possible, as well as our fabulous sponsors Boy Meets Girl and Roman & Luxe! The winner of the $600 jewelry giveaway will be drawn on Monday, so stop by all weekend and get your entries in!

Small Screen Style & Giveaway: Olivia Pope

 Rebecca || Stephanie || Rachel || Maddy

So in case you haven't been following along this week, we're teaming up with a few of our favorite bloggers and brands to recreate the style of some of TV's most iconic fashionistas (and don't forget to enter the amazing $600 jewelry Giveaway with Boy Meets Girl and Roman & Luxe!) We started with Mindy Lahiri and Rachel Green, and today we're bringing it back to the lady whose style inspired the whole collaboration: Olivia Pope.

Olivia owns Washington, and her wardrobe reflects it. She keeps it classy with a very neutral palette, and reminds everyone who's in charge with clean lined jackets and feminine details. We're in awe of her perfect winter coats and ladylike gloves, but alas, this is August. So we kept it lighter with a textured jacket and long, draped pearls.

After a long chat about a few of our favorite on-screen style mavens, we decided to team up with these amazing girls to recreate some of TV's most iconic looks, and offer an amazing $600 jewelry Giveaway with Boy Meets Girl and Roman & Luxe. Next character on the chopping block: Rachel Green from Friends.

Small Screen Style & Giveaway: Mindy Lahiri

Maddy || Stephanie || Rebecca || Rachel

Sometimes Mondays are really great! If you follow us on Instagram you may have noticed that we enjoyed a very adventurous weekend roadtrip. And what better way to recuperate than with a super fun collaboration with a few of our favorite bloggers?

We're so excited to team up with Rachel, Rebecca, Stephanie, and Maddy to recreate the style of a few iconic TV characters, past and present! Each day this week we'll all share our interpretations of a different character's style. And if that weren't exciting enough, we've also teamed up with Boy Meets Girl and Roman & Sunstone to give away over $600 in fabulous jewelry, including the pieces worn by our first style inspiration character, Mindy Lahiri from The Mindy Project!

The Things That Matter

Image via

This post is going to be a little different. Typically we like to reserve this blog as a space for positivity, creativity, and expression because those things are very important to us. We love pretty clothes and yummy food, and art and literature and entertainment. But today we feel inclined to talk about a few things that are more important. We hope that you'll read along, share in our reflection, and let us know your thoughts - because we're all still learning.

Date Night Romper

This week Skyla and Tony celebrated their 2 year anniversary! Wasn't her outfit for the big date night adorable? She picked up this cheerful Doe & Rae romper from TJMaxx for for only $16.99 and paired it with a playful leopard print clutch and strappy sandals for a fun, relaxing night with her boo (or, as they like to call it, her Googie. Yes, it rhymes with loogie, which is coincidentally how it makes me feel! JK... but really.)

What did they do for their night on the town? Simple and classic: dinner at their favorite restaurant, and Guardians of the Galaxy at our local vintage movie theater. Congrats, friends!

10 Best Thrifting Tips And Tricks

I have a confession: I'm a terrible thrifter. As much as I love the idea of picking up a few new favorites for next to nothing, it's never been my forte. I have a few excuses: a hard-to-fit body type and a huge sensitivity to my environment, but in the end it all boils down to this: I'm missing out.

Skyla, on the other hand, is a magical thrifting wizard. And she's sharing some of her best tips and tricks with us today! Let me tell you, she knows what she's doing. We went to a few thrift stores this weekend and she helped me find a few new favorites, including the perfect pleated midi and adorable clutch we shared in yesterday's outfit post.

So here you have it: your guide to thrifting your way to a new wardrobe!

Late Summer/Fall Style

This is always a sad time of the year. As much as I love the crisp fall breeze and colorful trees (not to mention the beautiful snow that's soon to follow!) I'm just never quite ready to let the summer go. I'm trying to shut out all the back-to-school nonsense and really make the most out of the remaining weeks of summer heat we have left. That means beach time, sandals, road trips, and sunshine!

But who says we can't mix in a little fall fashion along the way? This skirt was a recent thrift find (more on that adventure to come!) and I originally planned on saving it for the cooler months. But Ben wanted to head to the Akron Hamburger festival (apparently they were invented here? I'm not buying it... but I'll definitely eat it!) and the skirt was just begging to blow around in the warm summer breeze! So I threw on this neat architectural halter and my everyday (literally) sandals to keep things cool, and off we went!

Celebrity Lookalikes

Happy Friday everyone! We have a few whirlwind weeks of camping and road trips coming up, so we're looking forward to spending this weekend curled up on the couch with Netflix. My queue is currently full of Carrey Mulligan flicks, and every time I see her face I think she's Skyla! Total celeb doppelganger! Skyla says that she's also heard that she could pass for Brie Laron and Olga Kurylenko.

I've had friends and strangers tell me I look like Olivia Wilde and Audrey Hepburn ( I don't see it personally, but who am I to argue with all that cheekbone perfection?)

What do you think? Do you have any celebrity lookalikes?

Panko-Crusted Goat Cheese Salad

OK, so we might have been a little misleading earlier this week when we tweeted that we'd figured out how to fry salad. Well, I'm sorry. You can't actually fry salad, guys. That would be crazy. But this is about as close as you can get. As you bite into it, the crispy panko-crusted cheese crumbles and gives each bite a lovely, creamy crunch. Pair with sweet pears and strawberries and it's totally still healthy, right? That's how it works... Right?

Another 1920s Speakeasy Dress

We went to a fabulous 1920s/speakeasy/Gatsby themed event this weekend, and our outfits were so fun we had to share them with you guys. Isn't this the most romantic dress you've ever seen? Layers of lace and crochet flow together in the sunlight and make me long for yesteryear... or at least the return of Downton Abbey. We had such a fun time playing dress up, and we can't wait do it again. What theme are you dying to dress for?

Meet the Boyfriends: Tony

Last week we introduced you to Lindsay's boyfriend, Ben, and now it's Skyla's turn! We're handing the blog over to her boyfriend, Tony, so he can tell you a little bit about how they met (warning: it's sickeningly sweet!) Enjoy!

Speakeasy Party Dress

Hope everyone had an amazing, summery weekend! We spent it visiting with friends and eating wonderful meals (if you're in Cleveland, go to Bar Cento!) A few friends also threw a big speakeasy party - and you know we can't turn down a good excuse to get all dolled up! We dusted off our flapper dresses and channelled our inner Gatsby's and Daisy's, and we'd love to share our getups with you guys!

Isn't this thrifted beaded number just perfect for sipping a gin rickey and running from "the fuzz?"

Our Favorite Travel Planning Tools

After a crazy week, we're excited to be planning few little getaways to make the most of summer before it slips away. Nothing fancy, we'll probably just throw the dogs in the car and go camping for a few long weekends, but I'm so excited to get away, see the ocean, and relax!

So today we thought we'd put together a little guide on our travel-planning process. We share a few of our favorite tools for finding the best places to go and things to do. Do you have any tips or favorite tools when you're planning a trip?

Make a DIY Book

Today I'd like to talk about my personal experience with Shutterfly. This isn't a sponsored post, I just had a really great experience and I wanted to share that with you guys! For my media and techniques class I was challenged to create a book for a specific population that contained art therapy techniques specific to them. The population I chose was sexual trauma, because that's the population I am interested in working with as an art therapist. I love making zines, so I got very excited about the prospect of creating a book!

But I had a dilemma- how do I come up with a DIY project that will be professional enough to impress my professors? Shutterfly was the answer for me. I was able to create a book with clean edges and great quality, and the graphics options also had that DIY look I was going for.

And the service at Shutterfly is great. Books come fast and there is always a sale happening. In fact, sometimes they'll send you a free book coupon! I got this one for 30% off AND free shipping. Not too shabby. Even better- I got an A on the project!

(PS - this is an excellent gift idea!)

One Trend Two Ways: Leather Shorts Part Two

Earlier this week we started a little series exploring the more adventurous summer trends. Because what's the fun of having a fashion blog if not to push you out of your comfort zone? We'll take the plunge and show you a few ways to wear the items you may be nervous about, so you can decide if they're right for you.shorts. First up was leather shorts. Did you see Skyla's cosy knit outfit?

Here's another take on the same trend. These high-waisted leather shorts offer a bit more refinement and structure, perfect for pairing with your favorite chambray for a chic weekend stroll through your local art museum.

Meet the Boyfriends: Ben

You guys, I think it's time. I want you to meet my boyfriend. Things are getting pretty serious and I can really see this going somewhere. I know we've only been dating for 6 (almost 7) years (!), but sometimes you just know, you know?

No but really. A few people asked via social media to hear more about our boyfriends, so I thought it would be fun to do a little Q&A with Ben. We've been together for quite some time (no we're not getting married anytime soon, so cool your jets, Mom.) He's a video production artist by day, musician by night, and he thinks he's quite the comedian. Here's what he has to say for himself.

And tune in next week to meet Skyla's boyfriend, Tony!

One Trend Two Ways: Leather Shorts

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend! We're starting the week off with a new series exploring different ways to wear fun seasonal trends. I don't know about you, but sometimes I hesitate to join in on the latest trend because I'm afraid it won't last or it won't suit me (I'm looking at you, peplum.) But what's the fun of having a fashion blog if not to push you out of your comfort zone? We'll take the plunge and show you a few ways to wear the items you may be nervous about, so you can decide if they're right for you. First up: (faux) leather shorts.

We love this outfit because it acknowledges the badass-ness of the leather without letting it steal the show. Instead a cozy knit sweater tee and velvet sneakers soften the look for a perfectly comfy weekend getup.

100 Happy Days

If you haven't heard of the viral happiness campaign taking your Instagram feed by storm, then you need to crawl out from under your rock and rejoin human society (it's not so bad, we have cronuts now.) The challenge? Share a photo every day of one thing that makes you happy. That's not so hard, right? But the real question is this: should you be happy for 100 days in a row?

The 100 Days of Happiness campaign has received a lot of criticism for seemingly encouraging people to suppress their more complicated feelings. Wearing a smile doesn't pay your mortgage, or fix your marriage, or get you out of a dead end job. Humans are complicated, and your anger, fear, and sadness are just as important to your life as your happiness. So, is this just another unhealthy ideal you can never really live up to?

I'd say no, as long as you keep it in perspective. The ultimate goal of the campaign is to train yourself to acknowledge and express your feelings. Every time you stop to think "Does this make me happy?" you're inevitably also asking "Am I happy right now? Am I sad? Am I angry?" You're acknowledging a complex combination of feelings, and naming the things that cause them. No more hiding behind the monotony of a busy lifestyle, or ignoring your feelings because "That's just the way things are." Sure, you may only be publicly sharing the positives. But if the process makes you think about the whole picture, it's going to help you change it.

What do you think? Have you done the challenge? I've avoided it so far because I don't want to annoy my Instagram followers, isn't that silly? Unfollow me if you want, I'm starting today. You can follow along by following me at OhNoItsLindsay on Instagram. But fair warning: it'll probably be 100 pictures of my dog.

My Life Goal: Rory Gilmore's Reading Challenge

Image via

If I had a Harry Potter-style patronus, it would take the shape of Rory Gilmore. That might be the nerdiest statement ever written, but it's true. She's driven, quick-witted, and never leaves home without a book. If you're not familiar with our favorite Gilmore Girl, I highly suggest you get your priorities straight and plant yourself on the sofa for the next 2-3 weeks to marathon one of the best-written TV shows of all time. And if you are familiar with the show, then you know why I'm so excited about the Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge.

It's a list of every book Rory read or mentioned throughout the entire series, and it's 339 books long. The author, Patrick Lenton, estimates that it would take a little over 2 years to complete the challenge (assuming one book every two weeks). I have no plans for the next two years... I might as well give it a shot! Take a look at the challenge and let me know how many you've read, where I should start, and if you think I'm crazy for even considering it. I'll check in periodically and let you know how it goes.

What's on your reading list?

Dress of Green Gables

Confession. I haven't actually watched Anne of Green Gables (I'll get on it soon, I swear!) But I'm plenty familiar with the sweeping shots of young Anne meandering through various picturesque countryside scenery. And I believe there's some bit about her red hair and the nickname Carrots. That's enough for me to feel like Anne's kindred spirit in this floral frock. Isn't it just the most romantic outfit?

Outfit Juxtaposition

Juxtaposition is a word that we throw around a lot lately. It seems that we can't see a frilly, feminine top without pairing it with an edgy, leather skirt. It's like our M.O. (which stands for Modus Operandi, or "mode of operation" in Latin. Now you know.)

So when we saw this top at fellow local Blogger Dina's amazing vintage event at our favorite boutique, NOTO, this outfit was naturally our first instinct.

The Ultimate Guide to Twitter Chats for Beauty, Fashion & Lifestyle Bloggers

Hey guys! We've decided to do a small series on a few of the blogging tools we've found most helpful in our brief-but-wondrous adventure into the blogosphere. So we're here on an early Sunday morning with coffee in hand to talk about Twitter. Pre-blog, I had a rocky relationship with everyone's favorite social steam-engine. But I've since seen the light, and let me tell you: if you're a blogger/brand and you're not on twitter, you're doing it wrong. Plain and simple.

Weekend Things

Happy Friday! What are you up to this weekend? We're planning a last minute camping trip (location yet to be decided even though we leave in a few hours... oops.) so we're going to leave you with a few fun links from around the web. Enjoy!

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is finally open to the public. What are your favorite picks? I think I'm a little disappointed this year.

Did you see Lindsay's guest post at Clear The Way? It's pretty great!

Love the international parenting series at Cup of Jo. I don't have kids, but learning about different cultures is so neat!

I've been dreaming about this destination lately. Who wants to come with?

Rebel Girl & Kathleen Hanna

Kathleen Hanna is one of my heroes. Not only is she a fearless musician with the best high-pony in the neighborhood, but she's also an outspoken feminist who helped get the 3rd (?) wave of the feminism movement going in the 90's with her brand of riot grrrl music. Kathleen is most well known for Bikini Kill, but is also famous for her bands Le Tigre and The Julia Ruin.

I have been a fan girl for awhile and almost named Olivia Cat-leen Hanna! I also performed in a cover band show with some friends a few year ago. When putting together this outfit I was thrilled when I realized who it reminded me of. Obviously I had to copy her signature ponytail to complete the look. All of the pieces in this outfit are thrifted. However, the back patch came from a shirt that belonged to one of my cousins when we were younger. It's Brandon and Dylan from 90210!

Healthy Breakfast Smoothie

Today I'd love to share a recipe (if you can call it that) I use almost every day. Sipping this nutrient packed power smoothie keeps me full til lunch, and I feel great every time I drink it. I know people always say that, but really. This is probably enough servings of fruits and vegetables to last me a decade. Because that's how it works, right? Now I can eat french fries for 10 years?

Protip: If you make a lot of smoothies, freeze your fresh greens. You'll preserve the nutrients and have a long lasting supply ready when you are.

A Day at the 'Bay: Things to do at Put in Bay

I finally had a weekend free, and the only thing I wanted to do was get out in the sunshine and have an adventure. As I said in my Midwest Getaways post, Put in Bay is the perfect destination for a short respite from the daily grind. I grew up enjoying summers on Lake Erie, and as much as people love to hate on it, it's a home away from home for me. So we packed up the bikes and a picnic and headed north with no plan but to wander.

Weekend Adventures

How was your weekend? We finally made it up to the islands for a weekend of wineries, bike rides, and sunshine. It was exactly the summer celebration I needed, and I can't wait to do it again!

We found this perfect spot by chance when Ben's bike chain popped off. We pulled over for a little impromptu maintenance and found ourselves in the middle of the most picturesque vineyard. Naturally I made Ben drop everything he was doing and take pictures.

I've had this dress for a few years, and it's always been a favorite. It has the most perfect fit and flare shape and cutesy retro appeal. I paired it with a crisp white button down tied at the waist and my favorite summer sandals.

Other highlights of the weekend: swimming at an MTV Spring Break style party pool just to escape the heat (full of lols) and checking out Chris Evans and Tilda Swinton in Snowpiercer at our new local art house theater, the Nightlight (super intense/violent, but so so good!)

It's What's Inside That Counts: Tattoo Ideas

Happy Friday everyone! Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? I was surprised with an unexpected day off! So I'm hoping to indulge in a nap, a bike ride, and maybe even a baseball game.

In the mean time though, Skyla and I have been talking a lot about tattoos. Do you have any? I never considered myself a big tattoo person: how could I commit to carrying an image around with me for the rest of my life when I can't even commit to an outfit in the morning? But I just love Skyla's tattoos,  and the more I talked to her about her inspiration the more my mind opened to the commitment. I love the idea of being the canvas for piece of art that I love! Now I have a few ideas saved just in case. Here's a little background on each of her tattoos, and some advice for those considering one in the future!

Moving On Up: Moving in with Your Significant Other

Hey guys! We mentioned the other day when we were catching up that Skyla would soon be leaving the nest and moving into an adorable little apartment nearby with her boyfriend, Tony. Move-in day has come, and as sad as we are to see her go (Huxley will be so lonely without his partner in crime!) we're also super excited about decorating and starting the next chapter in life.

Have you ever lived with a significant other? Here are some of our thoughts/advice/concerns (and more pictures of the moving mess)!

Summer Obsessions

Something about the summer heat brings out the obsession in us. When Skyla was young she LOVED the California teen super-drama The OC so much that she tried to imitate Mischa Barton's character however she could. It was an obsession. Even today, as we write this post, she's rambling off obscure references that even I, another OC fan, would never guess in a million years. Hey, I get it. Seth Cohen is the perfect man.

Our current summer obsession is the crop top/skirt combo, as you might have guessed, so it's no surprise that grown-up Skyla's Marissa Cooper roots came out and paired this edgy cropped tee with a girly (faux) leather skater skirt and gladiators. It's an outfit that evokes memories of long will-they-or-won't-they romances, rich girl drug addictions, and orphan inferiority complexes.

Seriously though, can we marry Seth Cohen?

Flower Shop Style Challenge

You know those days when your plans pop up at you out of nowhere and you're not entirely prepared? I threw this springy outfit together when Ben spontaneously suggested we run out to our local flower shop for a few things to spruce up the patio, followed by our usual dinner & drinks. I was so rushed that I didn't accessorize. At all. Fashion fail.

As much as I love this minty fresh flouncy look, it needs something. A pop of pizazz, or a bit of bling. So I need your help. How would you accessorize this blank canvas? Would you edge up its feminine fresh with leather and studs, or embrace the girly side with soft neutrals?

Leave your ideas in the comments below, and we'll feature our favorite picks next week!

Let's Catch Up

Hello lovelies! Hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing holiday weekend. We were so busy last week with packing, writing, trip planning and everything else, it was so nice to spend a few laid back days visiting family and eating amazing food. We went to a handful of picnics and cookouts, picked wild berries in the woods, and shot a beautiful vineyard wedding. And today we'd love to check in and give you an idea of what we've been up to lately. Let us know if you've been reading/listening to/doing/thinking anything fun, we'd love your recommendations!

America

When we were traveling in Europe we'd often talk with other travelers about our perceptions of people from around the world. Everyone had a lot to say about Americans. It wasn't all bad, but their main issues were generally that we can be abrasive, aggressive, and overly gracious ("Thank you SO SO SO much!!!" can come off as insincere - go figure!) It's all stuff we've heard before, and it's all stuff that bothers me about our culture as well. But it also made me think about all my favorite parts of what makes us who we are.

Travel Tag

We were tagged by the lovely Tink Jayne to answer a few questions about our travels and adventures. And, of course, just thinking about travel got us planning a little weekend getaway. More to come on that, but for now, check out some pictures, advice, and thoughts on our travel experiences, and share your answers as well!

Coconut Berry Triflin'

Are you guys ready for the easiest, most perfectly delicious summer-time dessert you'll ever taste? This trifle is layered with fluffy angel food cake, fresh berries, and sweet coconut whipped cream. Plus it's rocking the red, white, and blue so it's great for all those upcoming 4th of July gatherings. If you're not digging the perfect pasta salad, this should definitely be your go-to recipe for a patriotic party pleaser (don't worry, alliteration will ALWAYS be cool, guys.)

Fourth of July: By the Lake

Do you guys have any July 4th traditions? A red, white, and blue food you love, or a party with friends and family? We like to pack the dogs in the car and head to a little lake in our small college town. It's the perfect atmosphere for the holiday: kids (and kids at heart) swimming and playing with sparklers, and the smell of campfires and cookouts in the air. Whether you're particularly patriotic or not, you have to love the 4th. It's a celebration of everything great about summer. And this festive little outfit is perfect for the occassion.

8 Things I Want to do This Summer

Can you believe we're almost halfway through summer already? Between work, school, and everything else, I feel like I've barely even been outside. There's no worse feeling than letting these summer months slip by unnoticed. So today's the day I resolve to spend the rest of the summer having adventures and making memories. Here's where I'll start:

Thursday, June 26, 2014

Cilantro Pasta Salad

The 4th of July is next week! Can you believe it? That means a wave of summertime gatherings is right around the corner, and you'll need something to bring to the table. Well, you're welcome, because this is it. I've had so many requests for this recipe I'm surprised I've gone this long without sharing it. The crisp, cilantro-y dressing is perfectly refreshing in the summer sun, and again, it's completely customizable to your tastes. What I've provided here is a simple base recipe - tomatoes, peppers, onion, and olives. You could (should) add corn, avocado, feta cheese, or whatever else your little heart desires.

Leather & Lace & Kiki Smith

In addition to this leather and lace ensemble, we'd love to share a little bit about one of our favorite artists, Kiki Smith. This will be the first in a new series highlighting talented lady artists, musicians, writers, scientists, and people. Hope you enjoy!

Art museums are kind of my jam. As a former art student (I have a BFA in sculpture) and a current artist (I work when I can), I get a thrill from art museums that very few other places are able to achieve (maybe the zoo, because…penguins). Every time I go I find myself inspired and compelled to create. So, naturally, when I had some free time Sunday afternoon, I begged Lindsay to go to the Akron Art Museum with me.
